| Megaday 2002 was the
Megaday that nearly didn't happen. A few local residents at near
by Badgers Wood made an official objection to Caerphilly County
Council in a bid to stop the event taking place due to noise
issues. When the news got out we were flooded with messages of
support from the local community, many from people who had never
been to Megaday but had in some way been touched by cancer.

The issue came to a head in a court
style hearing when common sense prevailed and the event was
granted a license to go ahead. In reality there were only a very
small number of residents who had genuinely objected. Doc Savage
summed up the whole issue with a new song dedicated to those few
objectors called: Badgers Wood? ***** Total raised £12k
